Project is Success!
| A GARDEN GROWING MORE THAN VEGETABLES! | |
| The vegetable garden at Nutrition and Services for Seniors is a true example of teamwork by a very diverse group of people. The fifteen 5’ x 20’ cinder block forms for each bed were constructed by Rotary club members and various volunteers. | |

The beds were prepared and filled with soil by Probationers who needed community services hours. Just a side note, most of the volunteers were women! BPD officer Todd Legendre and his driver Darin Long brought prisoners from Jefferson County Correctional Facility to mow grass, paint the storage shed and will return as needed to help will the planned expansion of the garden.
Jefferson County Adult Probation will continue their involvement with this ongoing project and the opportunity it provides for Probationers to gain a sense of accomplishment by contributing to something that they can be proud of.
Melinda Conner with Adult Probation has been instrumental in the progress made at the garden and will continue to work with Elaine, Toni and Tony to make this project a success.

Much happiness is apparent in this friend's face as she is one of the first homebound to receive fresh-from-the-garden veggies. |
|
“Thank you to Rotary for helping bring our garden to life! What a joy it is to watch it grow! As of now we have supplied 42 of our homebound with fresh from the garden veggies. Thank you for partnering with us for this wonderful project. You have truly made a difference!”
