Andy Smallwood, Rotary International Director
 

Andy was born in Pasadena, Texas and is a fifth generation Texan. He graduated from the University of Houston and South Texas College of Law. He is in private practice specializing in corporate, banking, real estate, and international law.

A Rotarian since 1981, Andy has served Rotary as Club President (Houston Gulfway Hobby Airport), District 5890 Governor, Task Force Member, Task Force Area & Zone Coordinator, International Training Leader, Trainer of the International Training Leaders, National Advisor to the Permanent Fund, Delegate to the Council on Legislation and  Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator. As DG, he received the Calgary Challenge Award at the International Convention for membership growth. He is currently serving as a director of Lone Star PETS and also the Rotary Multi District Training Institute.

Andy will serve as a Director of Rotary International for the 2012–2014 Rotary years.  He was selected by Zones 21 & 27.

He is the recipient of The Rotary International Service above Self Award, The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service and The Rotary Foundation Distinguish Service Award. He has been named by his club as Rotarian of the Year and also by D.5890.

Andy and Anita are Major Donors, Benefactors, and Charter Members of the Bequest Society. They have two daughters, Kathrynn and Baylee.
