Intelligence, Leadership, Entrepreneurship: How They Interlink for Success

Jack M. Gill is a native of Lufkin, Texas.  He earned a chemistry and engineering degree from Lamar University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Indiana University.  Jack served as President of the Lamar University Foundation Board and as an Indiana University Trustee.  Jack was named a 1999 winner of the prestigious Horatio Alger Awards for Distinguished Americans.  He received an honorary Doctorate of Science from Indiana University and a Distinguished Alumnus Award.  He founded a leading venture capital firm, Vanguard Ventures, in Silicon Valley.  He is a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty, a senior advisor to the Harvard-MIT CIMIT program, and currently teaches at Harvard, MIT, Indiana University and Rice.  He serves on the boards of MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Project Hope, and Presidents' Circle of the National Academies.
