"The Influence: Building Partnerships to Support Students of Color"

In the College of Public Service, Dr. Jerry Wallace is responsible for advising degree programs in order to facilitate recruitment, retention and graduation of students from the college.  He provides academic advising to students who have been accepted into a major within the college and promotes student self-responsibility in defining and achieving their educational goals. He develops and assists in implementing improved procedures and services to enhance students' experience. Dr. Wallace processes and approves degree modifications, graduation applications and degree certifications as well as advises students on academic probation and suspension. He creates, implements and analyzes student satisfaction surveys for majors. He coordinates outreach efforts and facilitates the development of mutually beneficial relationships with external partners to support career development for students. Additionally, he supports members and faculty in the Department of Criminal Justice, which includes Criminal Justice and Social Work, the Department of Urban Education, the Criminal Justice Training Center, and the Center for Public Service and Community Research.
