Our club currently has 12 attending the Area 12 Centenary Dinner on Wed. 21st. April at the Adelaide Oval with ten on our table and two on the Rotaract Table which is a great result.
The Community Services Committee is planning its first meeting on Tuesday 27th. April over dinner at the Astor Hotel in the city. This is a large team and a couple of non-club members, Alex and Maria have been invited to join the evening and observe the proceedings.
Richard Jarrett has informed me that our club will be sponsoring CBC year 9 student, Hussain Ali Mohammadi at this year’s RYPEN Camp
The club's social evening on Friday 30th. April at the Wholly Belly on Magill Road has already received 8 responses and I hope that you can join us, as it promises to be a fun night.
The next Board Meeting is on Thursday 23rd April and will again be at my place on Beulah Rd. commencing at 8.30 am.
Our meeting last week was attended by a small number who enjoyed an excellent breakfast and hopefully my presentation on the history of radio in SA. This week is Coffee Conversation at the White Picket Fence.
Yesterday, Saturday John W and myself met Santhny from the Rotaract Club to explore the idea of assisting them with their annual Quiz Night which hopefully will be held in August.
I would like to encourage you to register for this year’s District Assembly which will be held at Prince Alfred College on Sunday 2nd May.
The District Assembly is for all Rotarians who want to learn new ideas and best practices – especially incoming club leaders who are looking to strengthen their skill set(s). At this event, you can learn more about the different programs of Rotary, explore ways to become more involved at club and/or district level, and meet members from other Rotary clubs.

Every year, on our meeting closest to ANZAC day the Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks has a speaker with a military background/historian.
Our speaker this year is Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Langhrehr who will be speaking about Peace keeping missions, and he is well qualified to do so.
I would like to invite you or any of our members to join us on this evening on the 28th of April. We are using the Dining room at the Naval, Military and Air Force club so we can fit a fair few in. April 21, 2021 marks the Centenary of the first Rotary meeting held in Australia and New Zealand, at the Rotary Club of Melbourne. 3 years later in 1923 the Rotary Club of Adelaide held the first Rotary meeting in South Australia.
To celebrate this magnificent milestone, the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of District 9510 Area 12 invite all members both past and present as well as family, friends and supporters to join us for a very special evening.
Our MC Rotarian Tony Pilkington will take us on a journey over the past 100 years of Rotary in Australia.
Guests include His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, and online we hope to hear from the Rotary International President Holger Knaack.
