We’re trying a 50/50 blend of breakfast and evening meetings over the next 3 months. This Thursday is project/service activity discussion and general camaraderie over breakfast at South Tce Croquet Club (map here). It’s just $20 each for food and drinks (tell Rob ASAP), or $5 to just attend. So, Thursday 9 February 7am for 7:15.
Looking ahead we’ll meet on the second Thursdays of the month for breakfast in the format summarised above. Forth Thursdays of the month will be a dinner meeting often with a guest speaker, 6 for 6:15 in the Kent Town Hotel private room (parking underneath).
While we’re on meetings… think about any interesting guest speakers you may hear of and let Dean Sullivan know. He quietly toils away in the background delivering our speakers and would love to hear your ideas.
Meanwhile our service work is building up steam again for 2023. Our Fred’s Van team quietly delivers dinner for the homeless every 3 weeks. Richard’s band of Bread Run collectors is also quietly going about its work each Sunday with Baker’s Delight at North Adelaide.
Di and Rob’s BBQ team will be cooking up a storm at Bunnings Mile End next Monday 13 February. Please help with this, if you’ve not volunteered already - maybe you can think of a friend who might help?
Our first Cuppa Conversation for the year will again be 10am till ~11 at Ginger’s on Goodwood Road near Rosa St on Saturday week (25 February). Why not come along and enjoy conversation with some new Aussies. See the attached photo from our November gathering.
After the amazing success of our Rotary Clubs Riesling offered earlier this year, we have secured a local red wine for you to consider, enabling you to stock up for Christmas.
McLaren Vale is renowned for its excellent shiraz and this Chalk Hill Shiraz represents wonderful value, normally $22 per bottle, our club's fundraising offer is just $150.00 for a dozen. ($12.50 a bottle)
This delicious, easily drinkable wine is clean and smooth without unpleasant tannin aftertaste, so it's rapidly becoming a favoured wine.
