This week we have a dinner meeting on Wednesday 2 October at 6.30 pm at the Stamford Plaza Hotel. If you are unable to attend the meeting or will have guests attending, please email me at kmball@jelkamain.com or text me on 0402853929 by Wednesday lunchtime so that I can advise the Stamford Plaza about numbers attending.
This week our speaker is new member, Karagh Loring, who will present her ‘Life and Times’. We will also be entertained by John Karran who will bring along a replica of the Centenary diamond that his business is hosting. John will explain the nuances of the Centenary diamond and what makes it special for diamond enthusiasts.
On Wednesday afternoon, before our meeting, club members interested in preparing a meal for guests of Ronald McDonald House will tour the facility so we can familiarise ourselves with the kitchen and dining area ahead of our Club preparing an evening meal for House guests on November 13th. The tour will start at 4.00 pm. All members are welcome to attend the tour as we hope to continue our participation in the Ronald McDonald “Meals from the Heart Program”.

I am sorry because it is impossible for you to come to Colombia this year. We hope, soon you will be with us and with the students. This is a good opportunity for sending to your son, our greetings and best wishes in his Birthday.
Next meeting with students will take place next Sunday 6th at 10 a. m. I am going to go with one or two members of our R. Club Bogota Suba.

The Rotary Leadership Institute is a grassroots, multidistrict leadership development program, which follows the principles of adult learning.
It is fast-paced and interactive, with a range of topics including Rotary knowledge, leadership skills, public speaking, public relations, projects, attracting and engaging members, in a relaxed and welcoming environment of networking and fun.
The full course is covered over two days to facilitate ease of attendance for the time-poor.
Certificates and badges are presented on completion of the course.
Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Service Central Region will be providing a BBQ for all those who come along to the joint district working bee at the RAWCS Donations in Kind (DIK) facility at Edinburgh on Saturday, 19th October 2019.
Rotarians and friends from all clubs in the two districts are invited to attend this working bee that nominally starts at 9:30am and the BBQ starts at Midday.
Your assistance on the day will greatly help the running of DIK, one of Rotary Australia World Community Service’s most dynamic but unsung programs. Your help on the day will substantially complement the steadfast efforts of the DIK committee, regular volunteers and clubs that have had working bees at DIK in the past. As well as providing constructive help to, these working bees provide Rotarians and friends the opportunity for having fun while working together on a common cause and good fellowship.
A program of priority tasks has been identified that would be a great opportunity for you and your club to get hands on international service locally.
