PROGRAM OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TECHNICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL STUDIES – SENA
FINAL REPORT 2017
A new step of our common Program of Scholarships for students, young men and women of the Sector of Miramar, Suba, who are realizing their Technical or Technological Studies at SENA, has finished. It has been a successful year. More people have been interested to enter to this Program during this year but we only have accepted thirteen new students, distributed in four trimesters, because some students arrived last year and are continuing their studies until they finished them on 2018 or 2019.
It is very important to express to the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light, our Australian Rotary Partner the gratitude of the Community of Miramar, Suba, situated at the North West of the Colombian Capital. This Program has contributed to transform the social and educative conditions of the population. An important number of families have had the opportunity of getting the benefit of a scholarship and it has contribute to their progress and the continued progress of the Sector. At the same time, the Gratitude of our Rotary Club Bogotá, for your confidence, solidarity, friendship, sensitivity and opportunity. The Program has not had any difficult and all the Members of our Rotary Club are recognized of your economic efforts and your biggest spirit of solidarity with Colombia, especially with the population of the Sector of Miramar, Community of Suba.
Fundamental aspect for this success has been the important help represented in resources through scholarships given to the students, young men and women who study different Techniques and Technologies at SENA destined to prepare young men and women to work: an important part of these resources is destined to attend their own necessities through the commerce of the Sector.
This Program also has helped to reduce social problems such as the familial violence, the insecurity, the number of young mothers and at the same time, young people is entering to work in different activities, commerce and little enterprises or in important business in Bogotá
Other aspect, new for the Program and for the Community, established this year: The Members of our Rotary Club are charged of short conferences about different social aspects and themes oriented to help the Community to increase their social level, reduce common problems or conflicts, and contribute to a cultural enrichment and social progress. These ideas received by the students, are transferred to their families and through the families, to all the Community.
Concerning the Program of Scholarships, it is important to tell you that our Rotary Foundation received two important contributions from our Partner Rotary Club of Adelaide Light, destined to give the scholarship in April, July, September and December. Six students of this Program received their Diplomas at SENA this year. Today, there are eleven students with the Rotary Scholarships and there are some new young men and women interested to enter in April or in July, 2018.

Finally, our Rotary Club send you and to all the Members of our Partner Rotary Club of Adelaide Light a gratitude for your special contribution destined to contribution oriented to facility young people with fewer resources, to develop their formation on technical and technological training for work and thus, support the education of young people who will be the future responsible for the progress of their own community.
