This week we have a breakfast meeting on Thursday 24 October at 7.15 am at the Stamford Plaza Hotel followed by a Board meeting. Last Wednesday we joined with the Rotary Clubs of Adelaide Parks, Adelaide South and Adelaide West for a dinner meeting at the Naval, Military and Airforce Club to hear Jane Owens talk about what she is doing in her year as District Governor. The event, hosted by Adelaide Parks, was well attended and it was interesting to hear about some of the service work that other clubs are involved in.
At the meeting, Jim Davies from the Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks talked about the delivery of the equipment for the PABLO project that we are a partner in. He has arranged a visit to the Hampstead Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit for November 27th from 2.30 to 3.30 pm so funding partners can get an overview of the equipment in operation and to formally hand it over. The timing might be difficult for some Rotarians but needed to fit into the Hampstead routines.
The Rotary Clubs of Australia Drought Appeal has opened to assist farmers in crisis as record-high heat and record-low rainfall in many parts of Australia means that livestock is starving and crops are dying. Money raised will be used to provide charitable relief in locally identified areas by supporting projects that assist in the relief, recovery and reconstruction for drought affected persons and communities. Donations can be made online via https://www.bendigobank.com.au/rotarydrought or by visiting any branch of the Bendigo Bank.

Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting. Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money); register member payments/ apologies/ guests. Hosting: Welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriatepersons.
