This week all Rotarians received a email from Ian Riseley, Rotary International President, 2017-18 asking if we had risen to his challenge for every Rotary Club to plant one tree for every Rotary member by Earth Day 22 April 2018.
Please find the response sent on April 22nd by President Brian Lange from Rotary Club of Eastwood describing our participation. Also remember we made a Club Donation to the Calperum Riseley Forrest following this event and then also donated $50 to the Forrest in the name of Adelaide City Rotaract on the occasion of their birthday.

Dear Ian,
In answer to your question I can report that members and Family Friends of the Rotary Clubs of Adelaide Light 9500, the Rotary Club of Eastwood 9520 and members of the Rotary Nomads, 30 people assisted in planting 150 trees or shrubs in the Inman Valley area, Fleurieu Peninsula South Australia in July 2017. This took place on a very blustery, rainy day and an area of land of potential water erosion damage.
The plantings were followed by Hot soup, a BBQ and salad and very good Fellowship as a steady rain settled in to water the plants.
It should however be noted that a long dry summer (even with hand watering) reduced the oxygen producing capacity of the planting. This will be improved with a further planting in the southern winter 2018.

Dear Angus, Dear Helen, Dear Members of the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light, I send you the greetings and gratitude of the members of your Partner Rotary Club Bogotá Suba. We recognize all your effort and the effort of the members of the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light for helping us to give answer to the students of Miramar each trimester. Many thanks for all your help. We understand that you and your Rotary Club appreciate our work, but really who has done the more important effort of solidarity, have been all of you.
Next Sunday, we will have our meeting with ten students. Some of them are finishing their studies but new ones will be entering to our Scholarships Program. Of course, among these new students, we will have people who is finishing their studies and some who are beginning studies, all of them developing technical or technological programs at SENA.
Dear President Julie, Dear Angus, Dear Members of the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light, many thanks for your new effort. All of you are helping to young men and women to build a better future. This construction is in two ways: Helping them to study superior education (technical and technological) and through their studies, giving them the opportunity to open important doors to work.
Dear Angus, many thanks for your effort to visit us. We would like to know when are you planning this visit.
Dear Members of our Partner Rotary Club of Adelaide Light, be sure, the Members of our Rotary Club Bogota Suba and all the students who have received Scholarships through your help, we are grateful of all your solidarity and collaboration.

Bill’s second Anniversary was coming up and if there was one thing that got his wife Suzy upset, it was not getting a thoughtful gift on a special occasion. Bill quizzed all his friends, co-workers, clients and anyone he happened to bump into, as to what would be a good anniversary present. He finally settled on a huge bouquet of flowers.
Not willing to trust himself to pick out the right flowers, Bill called up a local flower shop with strict instructions to deliver the biggest most beautiful bouquet of flowers first thing in the morning with the following note “Happy Anniversary Year Number Two!”
The morning of the Anniversary Bill made sure Suzy would be the one to answer the door as he waited anxiously in the other room. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ALL ABOUT?!” yelled Suzie, angrily holding up his well thought out note, “Happy Anniversary You’re Number Two!”
