The second part of this week is set to be a roaster! 🥵 all of summer seems to be compressed into this week. Fortunately, the Kent Town Hotel is well air-conditioned, and we’ll be deep in the inner sanctum for our Thursday dinner meeting. I look forward to seeing you there. Glad we’re not on BBQ duty this week!
Our next Cuppa Conversation with new Aussies this Saturday 10 till ~11am at Marshmallow Park on Glen Osmond Road should avoid the very hot weather. The bureau expects 30C after lunch and 20C the night before, so it should be just right in the morning. Do come along and enjoy conversation with some new Aussies.
You’ll be pleased to know Yvette’s back home alone again and in her indefatigable pragmatism, she’s managing well as she knocks over each of her physio targets. It won’t be long before we’ll see Yvette’s smiling face out among us again. 😀
On March 10 and 11 Rotarians and Friends can ‘Discover Rotary’ with deeper insights into how the Rotary Foundation helps clubs, individuals and organisations opportunities make a difference locally and nationally. There’s a cocktail event on Friday 10th, then a Forum on Saturday 11th about how Rotary aims to Protect the Environment.
In Discover Rotary you'll see what is done internationally and what District 9510 Clubs do to make a difference. You'll also meet Rotarians across district, make new friends, build new networks and better understand the potential of Rotary and how you can make a difference. Another reminder for your diaries - the annual Area 12 Dinner at North Adelaide’s Cathedral Hotel on Wednesday 29 March - $65 each for a 2 course meal, alternate drop. More detail eventually.

We'll be exploring how partnering with the Rotary Foundation Australia can exponentially increase ones ability to make a difference.
Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting. Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money); register member payments/ apologies/ guests. Hosting: Welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriatepersons. Furniture: Flags; banner display; Rotary theme banner; gong and hammer; lectern position before and returned after the meeting. Computerset up – Connect to projector. Switch on. Hold function key & press F5 twice. Bottles/cans: Collect bags of bottles/cans at meeting and take to recycle centre for refund, pass refund to Bruce McDonald and empty bags to the next duty member, at the next meeting. Rotaract: Meets alternate Mondays at 6pm (for a 630pm start) at the Cumberland Arms Hotel, 205 Waymouth St. Adelaide. Bread Run: Sundays, meet outside Romeo's, North Adelaide at 4:55pm
