There is no meeting this week. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 27 May at 12.55 pm when we will join the other Adelaide City clubs for the annual combined Group One meeting. The Rotary Club of Adelaide is hosting the meeting and they have invited Sir Peter Cosgrove to speak to us all. This will be a ZOOM meeting and as there is a limit of 100 participants it would be advisable to register now if you would like to attend. A separate invitation has been emailed to Club members with the registration details for the meeting. The meeting with the other Adelaide Clubs will be in place of our regular meeting on Thursday 28 May. The May Board meeting is now scheduled for Thursday, 28 May at 8.00am.
On Thursday 28 May, the Club will be hosting a morning tea by ZOOM for Rotarians, partners and friends from 10.00am till 11.00am as part of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser. I would like to thank Fred Field for the interesting talk that he gave at last week’s meeting about Blaze Aid and his experiences as a Blaze Aid volunteer. The organisation provides farmers with much needed assistance to rebuild their boundary fences after natural disasters such as fire and flood and Fred has spent many hours working to help farmers recover their livelihood. It was enlightening to hear how much support is given by Australian businesses and communities to help in the recovery.

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Di Nicholas (Casey).
Di was a very active member of our Rotary Club for many years and held a strong interest in the development of young people. She was a great supporter of Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment and National Youth Science Forum programs and acted as "camp mum" at the RYLA annual camp for the young attendees.
At District 9500 level she was very involved in the committee for Rotaract (18 – 30 year old) and Interact (14 – 17 year old).
Di was an active member of the planning and organising team for the District 9500 Conference held at Alice Springs.
Di held the position of Director of Vocational Services and in memory of her son, Sam, Di set up the Sam Casey “Encouragement Award” and was involved in the SA Enterprise Workshops with the support of our Club. Each year, at the end of the workshop, the winners of the Award, were given financial assistance to develop their business.
Di also held the position of Public Relations Director.
Di was a very hardworking, kind and caring person and will be sadly missed.

1. When an I.T. person says he's coming right over, go for coffee. That way you won't be there when we need your password. It's nothing for us to remember 700 screen saver passwords.
2. When the printer won't print, re-send the job at least 20 times. Print jobs frequently get sucked into black holes.
3. When the printer still won't print after 20 tries, send the job to all 68 printers in the company. One of them is bound to work.
4. Don't learn the proper term for anything technical. We know exactly what you mean by "My thingy blew up".
