A very healthy group enjoyed our coffee conversation at the Stables last Thursday morning, where we welcomed Bruce, back from Norway, sporting a beard.
The barbeque at Bunnings Mile End was a very hot way to raise funds for the club today, Tuesday 22nd., however Bunnings supplied a second marquee to shade our customers and provided a mist fan for the cooks.
This Thursday morning our fortnightly meeting is at the Royal Coach and our guest speaker is Liz Tilley. John the Jeweller will also be making a brief presentation about the revised mentoring program initiated by the Rotaract Club.
Next Thursday 31st. January we are trialling a breakfast meeting at the Ibis Hotel, 122 Grenfell St., City at 7am. for a 7.15am. start.
The Royal Coach have advised us that on Thursday 7th. Feb. our regular breakfast meeting will be held in their new restaurant as the Board Room has been booked for a 3-day conference.
The National Rotaract Conference is to be held in Adelaide on Saturday 9th. and Sunday 10th. February. A dinner on the Sat. night is at the Adelaide Zoo and some members are planning to attend and you would be very welcome to join us.
On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd. March our club will again be running the car parking for the Adelaide 500 Car Race in John and Julie's old work place on Fullarton Road.
John and Di will be emailing out details and seeking volunteers.
The Rotaract Club will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 3rd. March at 9am, walking around Tambawodli Park on West Terrace and some of our members may like to join them.
The program for the Rotary Conference over Friday 29th, Saturday 30th. and Sunday 31st. March at Hahndorf is now available on the Rotary web site for those planning to attend. The early bird enrolment has been extended until Thursday 31st. January.
