Rob’s team of Christmas tree sellers brought home the bacon (so to speak) with 124 trees welcomed into new homes over the 3 weekends. Total profit was $4,824 close to the budget target of $5,000. A great result from our Master Retailer and his team, undeterred by the first car race weekend, hot weather for two weekends and stiff competition throughout from the Starlight Foundation. We’re most grateful to our resolute team of volunteers, stretched thin between selling trees and BBQs. But tenacity and selflessness paid off, so well done to all our volunteers as we go into a well earned rest over the Festive Season!

You will have seen my email about Katey being called to head office during January to help Rotary International progress its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy. Well, Katey, Kirsti and their wonderful team of mentors had a great year helping Erfan and his family find their feet in Oz. The family showed their gratitude last Saturday with a wonderful Afghan BBQ for mentors and some friends at their home.
Our last Thursday breakfast for 2022 this week is a Christmas party complete with a visit from that red suited bloke (if Rudolph the red-gloved Kangaroo can find us).
In the new year on Thursday 5 January, there’s a casual gathering at Dulwich’s White Picket Café from 9:30am for those who can make it. Otherwise, our first breakfast meeting for 2023 is 7 for 7:15am at the Terrace Hotel on Thursday 19 January.

After the amazing success of our Rotary Clubs Riesling offered earlier this year, we have secured a local red wine for you to consider, enabling you to stock up for Christmas.
McLaren Vale is renowned for its excellent shiraz and this Chalk Hill Shiraz represents wonderful value, normally $22 per bottle, our club's fundraising offer is just $150.00 for a dozen. ($12.50 a bottle)
This delicious, easily drinkable wine is clean and smooth without unpleasant tannin aftertaste, so it's rapidly becoming a favoured wine.
