This week is our second breakfast meeting at the South Tce Croquet Club, just off Beaumont Road in the South East parklands. Let Richard know for catering purposes if you’re able to join us… it’s 7am for a 7:15 start, finishes by 8:30 and $20 for breakfast or just $5 to attend.
At last Thursday’s Coffee Conversation, it was clear that Bruce has bounced back well and his ladder is thoroughly chastened. Rob is so relaxed about it, he’s headed off to Victoria on holiday. There’s a Club Board meeting this Thursday at 6pm if any of you would like to attend as observers? Let me know and I’ll explain the details.
Kirsti led another successful Fred’s Van meal delivery for the homeless and disadvantaged in the city with Paige, Fatemeh, Paul Jupp and me last Wednesday. Also, don’t forget Kirsti’s Treasure Box collection - her Sunday 26 Feb email to you explains a drive to gather donations with details of the items desired. Please give this your support in the next few days.
If you would like a ‘Rotary Club of Adelaide Light' badged polo shirt, rugby jumper or even a conventional shirt, either come to this Thursday’s breakfast to see them, or contact Richard. There’s more detail in the email he sent you on Sunday.
Some of you may have enjoyed an International Women’s Day event on Wednesday 8th, there were excellent speakers to choose from. The $65 Area 12 Dinner 7pm on Wednesday 29 March at North Adelaide’s Cathedral Hotel in 45 Kermode St offers the following: an antipasto plate then alternate drop main course of MSA grain feed porterhouse, sweet potato puree, broccolini, red wine jus; or crispy skin chicken kiev, potato gratin, broccolini and romesco sauce. You can book here.
For those wishing to make longer term diary entries, keep Thursday 29 June free for our ‘Changeover Dinner’ - details later. Otherwise, I’ll hopefully see you this Thursday 9 March for our breakfast meeting at South Tce Croquet Club.

An efficiency expert concluded his lecture with a note of caution. "You don't want to try these techniques at home."
"Why not?" asked somebody from the audience.
"I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. "She made lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time.
One day I told her, "Mary, why don't you try carrying several things at once?'
"Did it save time?" the person in the audience asked.
"Actually, yes," replied the expert. "Previously, it would take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in seven."
