As we head into the Easter weekend, take care on the roads as many rush out of town heading for a much anticipated 4 day break. If staying in town, it’s a great time to casually absorb all the city has to offer, with less crowds. Anyway, spare a thought on Easter Monday for those kind volunteers Di and Rob have gathered to keep our BBQ fundraising ticking over. 🙏😊
Rob was again a great MC for last Wednesday’s Area12 Dinner, where some of us mingled with Rotarians from other Clubs while enjoying an outstanding speaker. Paul Curnow is one of the world’s leading authorities on Australian Aboriginal night sky knowledge. Paul graphically brought to life Australia’s night skies and astronomy through the eyes of the many indigenous mobs.
We have a Club Board meeting on Thursday April 13, so if you’d like to spectate, let me know. Also, quickly contact Richard if you’ve been procrastinating about a ‘Rotary Club of Adelaide Light' badged polo shirt, rugby jumper or dress shirt. The purchase window closes this week.

Yvette and Rob attended the District 9510 Information day last weekend where Rob struck up a radio jock chat with a Roxby Downs Rotarian and fellow radio presenter Sandy Samson from Rox FM. You’ll recall that Yvette is quick and accurate with a camera… see photos attached.
Our Rotary District 9510 has a 2023 Rotary Volunteering Expo on 3rd June 2023 in Bonython Hall at Adelaide University. It’s free and open to the public with 40 exhibitors including Rotary projects and those of our partners in community service. There are Guest speakers on societal change that include volunteering trends. The theme “Proud of the Past Confident of the Future” highlights Rotary as an enabler offering satisfying experiences for all members.
There’s a Celebration Dinner 6:30pm that evening at the National Wine Centre. It’s $100 for a 2-course meal, welcome drink on arrival, entertainment and some very special guests. Put 3rd June in your diary.
This Thursday, join us for a Coffee Conversation 9:30am at the White Picket café in Dulwich. We’ve another Breakfast meeting on Thursday 13 April at South Tce Croquet Club.
