As announced at our last meeting, a District Governor has been selected for the year 2020/21, which will also be the year that District 9500 and District 9520 join together to form District 9510. David Jones from Mitcham Club has accepted the role and we wish him well.

Last Saturday, John and myself travelled to Murray Bridge to hear the International President of Rotary, Ian Riseley, speak at the Murray Bridge Town Hall. Mobilong Rotary Club hosted Ian and had issued an invitation to all Rotarians from both 9500 and 9520 to attend and have the opportunity to meet and hear an address from Ian, who did comment the temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was a little different from the minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit they currently have in Evanston, Illinois.

To all the volunteers who worked so hard at the bbq on Sunday please accept the club’s thanks. It was very hot, there was always a queue of customers but the friendly banter between the teams shone through - ok, I might have got a little terse with John C, but that has been known to happen before!!

At this week’s meeting we will be assembling our final pairs of artificial hands for the “Hands On” project under the guidance of Linda Sweeney. For those members who were unable to attend our last workshop, this will be your last opportunity and for those experienced assemblers we need you also. I trust all members have also improved their drawing and colouring in skills to enable the bags to look attractive. Our hands will then be ready to be transported overseas and fitted to needy recipients.
