President's Pen

Our meeting last Thursday was a very full one which included the club's AGM.

Thank you to Dr. Phil for initiating the Christmas Carols and a very big thank you to David Rowe for the song sheets and accompanying us on ukulele. I hope that you are all ready for a repeat this coming Wednesday morning at our combined meeting with Eastwood at the Royal Coach for breakfast at 7am. for a 7.15am start and they conclude at 8.15am.

Sadly, Liz Tilley who was to deliver her Life and Times was a last-minute apology and is now booked for January.

The Christmas Tree sales at Bunnings at Kent Town are currently our second biggest fundraiser after sausage sizzles. This year we chose to sell over two long weekends instead of the usual three weekends. with mixed results. The first w/e. without the Friday due to very hot weather netted $1800 which included $460.00 transferred to the Rotarctors.

The second w/e included Friday with just two trees sold (from inside the shop),netted $1530.00 which included $240 for the Rotaractors contribution, giving us a total net profit of $2630 and $700 for the Rotaractors. Thank you to everyone who helped over the two weekends.

John W. and myself are exploring venues for breakfast and evening meetings to try with some Rotaractors in January and February, so we will keep you posted.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.
