President's Pen
There is no meeting this week, however, there will be a coffee conversation on Thursday 31 October at 9.30 am at the White Picket Coffee House, 10 Stuart St, Dulwich. Everyone is welcome.

Our next official meeting is an evening meeting on Wednesday 6 November at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.

There will be no evening meeting in December. Instead, we will be joining with the Adelaide Rotaract Club on Friday 6 December for our annual ‘teapot’ challenge event. This year we will be challenging the Rotaract Club in a game of darts at the Arab Steed Hotel.

The Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held on Thursday 12 December. This will also be the last meeting for the year.

There are a number of positions vacant on the Board for the 2020-21 Rotary year with John Campbell leaving the position of Secretary; Di Lane leaving the Fundraising position; and I will be leaving the position of President. So far, nominations have been received from Di Lane for the position of Secretary and from Rob McLennan for the position of Fundraising. Please let me know of there are any other nominations for the three vacancies.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.

Jokes Corner
