All the Members of your Rotary Club
I send you, Special Greetings from our Rotary Club Bogota Suba. We are grateful to all the Members of the Rotary Club of Adelaide Light for their constant support to young vulnerable communities seeking to overcome their own difficulties through the study, particularly in technical and technological areas that our country needs.
I can tell you that students do an important effort in order to continue with their Scholarships. We ask them each trimester a Certificate of SENA explaining that they continue studying, until they finish their Academic Programs. We only give help to students who present it, on the contrary, a student who do not present this Certificate, is changed by other new student who can demonstrate that he or she is studying at SENA.
It is important to explain you that all the students who have had a Scholarship, they have ameliorate their life: The most part of them have finished their studies and are working now. It means that their family life also has changed. As you know, technical and technological studies give students the opportunity of preparing their knowledge to work in specific areas of the Industry, Commerce, Administration, Finances, Science, Computers, Cookery, Art, Public Services, Transport, Microenterprises, Health, Sports, and other areas.
Our Rotary Club continues guiding trainees in the organization of an entity whether Foundation or Association that facilitates organize them and provide greater service to their community. It is not easy, because everyone has different work schedules or studies. From this organization will depend future projects of Solidarity for the benefit of new students and the Community itself. For that reason, we insist that it is convenient for them, this integration.
Dear Members of your Rotary Club, many thanks for your solidarity and help to young men and women and their families to see the future with confidence, security and peace.
This year, the Rotary Round Table will also include the AGs and Chairs training.

11. Water Sanitation Program
The 9500/9520 Safe Water Saves Lives (SWSL) Committee of RAWCS recently contacted Australian Diplomatic Missions (ADM’s)in the South Pacific, PNG, Timor Leste and Indonesia (re eastern Indonesia) seeking advice of any “over-flow” Direct Aid Program.
Mr. Andrew Byrne, Australian High Commissioner, Solomon Islands, has advised that there are currently three worthy water projects that Rotary may consider funding – see attachment for more details.
These projects would suit clubs individually or clubs which may like to do a project jointly with two or more clubs. THINK GLOBAL GRANT
12. End Polio Now Campaign
A reminder to Clubs that are intending to participate in the “End Polio Now” challenge by making a contribution of US$1500 to the End Polio Now campaign that to qualify as having completed the challenge and thus receive the Recognition Certificate a donation of US$1,500 (not AU$1,500).
While any amount donated will always be most welcomed, to qualify for the Recognition Certificate Australian Clubs will need to donate an amount of AU$2,115 which based on current exchange rates equates to US$1,500. Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement
To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.
We were dressed and ready to go out for a dinner & theatre evening. We turned on a 'night light', turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parrot and put the cat in the backyard. We phoned the local taxi company and requested a taxi.
The taxi arrived, and we opened the front door to leave the house. As we walked out the door, the cat we had put out in the yard scooted back into the house. We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to get at the parrot. My wife walked on out to the taxi, while I went back inside to get the cat. The cat ran upstairs, with me in hot pursuit.
Waiting in the cab, my wife didn't want the driver to know that the house would be empty for the night so, she explained to the taxi driver that I would be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say good-bye to my mother."
A few minutes later, I got into the cab. "Sorry I took so long," I said, as we drove away. "She was hiding under the bed. I had to poke her ass with a coat hanger to get her to come out. She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then, I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her downstairs and threw her out into the backyard! She'd better not s*#t in the vegetable garden again!"
