Our first meeting last Thursday morning at our new venue, The Stamford Plaza, was a great success and I received very positive feedback, thank you. Twenty-six people attended to witness the very exciting induction of three Rotaractors into our Rotary club, Katey, Karagh and Kirsti. Visitors included DG. David Egan, ADG. Robert Gunn and a large contingent from the Adelaide City Rotaract Club who lent their support to their colleagues who are leading the way and bravely stepping into the wider world of Rotary.
I was delighted to read DG. David Egan’s very generous comments in this week’s District Bizz Newsletter acknowledging our club's membership growth this year of 41% which is a credit to us all.
Rotaract President, Heidi Wolff attended our meeting and was able to bring us up to date with the very exciting Mentoring Project which she has steered and announced that the launch date is Tuesday 18th. June at the Cathedral Hotel.
Yesterday, Saturday a small group of us spread 2 cubic meters of mulch over the front and back gardens at Catherine House making them all ready for the coming spring and summer weather. Thanks to Rotaractor Bernie for assisting us and most of us were able to finish up with a most enjoyable cup of coffee.
Speaking about coffee, our next Coffee Conversation is this coming Thursday morning, 13th. June at 9.30am. at a new venue, The White Picket Coffee House, 10 Stuart Road, Dulwich, which has some small rooms inside and a small amount of car parking in the rear.
This coming Saturday 15th we will be running the Bunnings Mile End BBQ.
Finally, our next breakfast meeting is at the Stamford Plaza on Thursday 20th. June and we are busily organizing a guest speaker, to be announced.
