There is no Club meeting this week. Our next meeting is a breakfast meeting on Thursday 26 September at 7.15am at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
Jim Davies from the Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks has now received confirmed support from the Rotary Foundation for a District Grant to purchase equipment for the SA Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre. Ed King, Chair of District 9500 Rotary Foundation Grants has invited partners in the Grant submission to proceed with the purchase. The Grant and contributions from the partnership will purchase the equipment. Other benefactors from the Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks will sponsor the cost of installation and training.
Last Wednesday I attended the Adelaide Parks Club meeting to hear Dr Miranda Jelbart explain the benefits of the PABLO equipment in assisting patients undergoing brain injury rehabilitation. Dr Jelbart would welcome a visit from Rotary Club members of the partnership to the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre when the PABLO equipment is installed and operable.
Last Sunday a group from the Club made our way through the Adelaide Hills on a scavenger hunt to Ashbourne for lunch, followed by coffee and dessert at Strathalbyn. We all enjoyed the day in Adelaide Hills which were at their best on what was a beautiful, warm, spring day. Thank you, John and Deb Wotherspoon for organising the event.

Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting. Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money); register member payments/ apologies/ guests. Hosting: Welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriatepersons. Furniture: Flags; banner display; raffle balls; collection boxes; Rotary theme banner; gong and hammer; lectern position before and returned after the meeting. Computerset up – Connect to projector.
