Kirsti is organizing Share the Dignity -"It's in the Bag" to be conducted on Thursday 26th. November as part of our breakfast meeting. In this edition you will find a list of items that we are asking you to donate please, so that the event is a great success. By our meeting on Thursday 12th. Nov. Kirsti will need you to inform her of what you plan to donate (or can bring that morning), to allow her to plan for any items that will be over or under what is required. The memo states Nov. 19th., but there is no meeting. The Rotaract Club are also donating items and hopefully some of their members can join un on the 26th.November.
At last week's Board meeting, Richard confirmed that our club's Bread Run is up and running once more, with special thanks to Baker's Delight in North Adelaide. Together with the Adelaide City Rotaractors, we deliver donated bread to the Moore St Centre and Ronald McDonald House.
A reminder to everyone that I need to know if you are attending each Breakfast Meeting by the 5 pm on the preceding Tuesday evening.

Thank you for your continued interest and contribution to this exciting initiative.
We thought that we would provide you with an update that may start to appear in Governor Newsletters across our region.
For your information, the Rotary International Board meets in November 2020 and will consider a proposal by the RI created Shaping Rotary’s Future Committee [SRFC] to move toward Regionalisation. Governance would move from the current 527 Districts across the world to 20-40 Regions. The intent is to allow more Regional autonomy and provide more support for Clubs, Rotarians and Rotaractors.
To recap, quite separately in Jan 2019, the RI Board approved a petition from the District Governors of Zone 8 (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) to propose a Regional structure and approach to halt membership decline, provide a stronger Rotary voice and better partnerships with government, business and communities.
We recently provided an update to the RI Board on our progress which reinforces that we are well-placed to modernise Rotary in our Region if the RI Board votes to proceed toward Regionalisation.
Formal approval to establish Regional Pilots will be required at the next Council on Legislation in April 2022. The earliest implementation in our Region would be for the 2023-24 Rotary year.
We will provide you with another update as soon as we receive news on the RI Board deliberations, and look forward to your continued support, and feedback, as the plan to make Rotary more effective in our Region is developed.
Share the Dignity is an organisation that works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of women experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or doing it tough and focus on ending period poverty in Australia. “It’s In the Bag” campaign runs from 20th to 29th November and is predominately a donation drive of basic essentials, period products and some special items which get delivered to registered charities to be distributed to those in crisis in time for Christmas.
We will be doing the adult bags and I ask that members, their friends, family and colleagues start collecting any of the following items:
Handbags or small female style backpacks that are new or if pre-loved they have to be in great condition, clean and no clear signs of use
Shampoo & Conditioner
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Bodywash or Soap
Roll-on Deodorant
Sealed packets of pads or tampons (regular to super absorbency recommended)
They also encourage additional items that would make someone feel special such as makeup, accessories, moisturiser, facemasks, hand cream, handmade items, purses etc. Keep in mind, 'what would I like to receive during such a difficult time?'
Note - All items donated should be in their original packaging, sealed and in great condition.
Please bring donated items to the breakfast meeting on 12 November.
The plan is to pool all donations by 19 November, and then pack the bags together at our meeting on Thurs 26th November. This aligns with International Day For The Elimination of Violence Against Women which is on the 25th November.

Proceeds to the Community Outreach Dental Program in Light Square. Here we provide free dental treatment to people who live in the Common Ground building and others in dire need. They are trying to bridge the gap between homelessness or distressing domestic circumstances and a meaningful life. They need their teeth to function again and be presentable for the workforce.

YOU ARE INVITED ! Twilight Sail on the ‘One & All’ Tall Ship November 14th 2020 5:00 pm to 10:15 pm
After departing Dock 2, the ship will sail down the Port River into the Gulf to about Semaphore before returning. During the cruise, passengers will be supplied with delicious food prepared in the ship’s galley. Tea coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the cruise. The ship’s bar will also be open with beer, wine and bubbly available for purchase. On board and helping to sail the ship will be a group of students from recent Rotary Sailing Challenge voyages. During the cruise, these young people will be available to talk about their experiences and the benefits they have gained from this exciting Rotary Youth program. Those on board will also be able to witness the students setting sails, climbing the rigging and confidently walking out on foot-ropes strung beneath the swaying spars high above the deck.
