Stories
President's Pen
Last Tuesday evening the Community Service Committee had a very successful meeting at the Astor Hotel over dinner with an excellent number participating including Alex and Maria. Congratulations to them for obtaining visas and Alex commenced his new job as an IT Engineer the day before, working on South Terrace.

The committee discussed holding its first coffee morning entitled Chat To Belong on Saturday 5th. June at 9.45 am at the Cafe Outside The Square, 34 Whitmore Square. This will be an opportunity for club members to chat with recently arrived people from overseas and hopefully being able to offer advice. If you would like to attend and/or invite someone please let Kirsti know as we need to be able to confirm numbers.

The next Area 12 President's meeting is tomorrow, Monday night and both John W as PE and myself will be there, also attending will be the new District Governor Elect

At last Thursday's Coffee Conversation we were joined by two members from the Mitcham Club, Alison Carter and Paul Jupp which swelled our numbers and hopefully they may be able to attend one of our breakfast meetings.

John W. and I are attempting to plan the club's next social outing which will be a train trip (hopefully steam) from Mount Barker to Strath or Goolwa, the date is yet to be confirmed, however please pencil in Sunday 1st. August.

Our next BBQ at Bunnings at Mile End is this coming Tuesday, and Di has a full team of volunteers ready to go.

This Thursday morning is our next Breakfast Meeting at the Sage from 7 am and I look forward to as many members as possible being able to join us. Please remember to let me know of your attendance by this coming Tuesday evening.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.

Jokes Corner
Quotations from famous golfers

If profanity had any influence on the flight of the ball, the game of golf would be played far better than it is.

Golf is a day spent in a round of strenuous idleness.

I don't say my golf game is bad, but if I grew tomatoes they'd come up sliced.

The only time my prayers are never answered is playing golf.

It's good sportsmanship to not pick up lost golf balls while they are still rolling.
