This Thursday’s breakfast meeting (26 May) is a ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ event that Julie is kindly arranging. An extra $5 each will be donated to the Cancer Council. We’ll hear stories you can tell us about your “best ever” morning tea/coffee experience as well as the usual camaraderie and club activity updates.
Our combined Quiz Night with Rotaract on Friday June 3 is selling well and preparations are well in hand with guidance from Paige, Stuart and Rotaract’s Nic Egan. There’s still time to contact more of your friends and book yourselves in here. Tables of 10 attract a 10% discount on the $20 entry fee.
Last Monday’s Adelaide City Rotaract meeting was an excellent session to better understand our First nations’ Welcome to Country and the Acknowledgement of Country (see photo). Katey and Bernie will present this for us at our 9 June breakfast meeting - it’s a light bulb moment I encourage you not to miss. During National Reconciliation week, this Sunday afternoon some of us are doing a walk to understand Kaurna life before European settlement and its subsequent impact.
Our next ‘Chat 2 Belong’ session will be on Saturday 18 June, so do put that one in your diary. Kirsti has a few spots for a Trees For Life bushfire recovery planting day in the Hills on Saturday 2 July from 9am-3:30pm. Please let her know ASAP if you’re interested. Also, if you’d like to volunteer on a weekday to help children’s charity Treasure Boxes, let Kirsti know so we can put a group together to best suit.
Meanwhile, keep Thursday evening 30 June free in your diary for our ‘Rollover’ dinner and bring your partner to welcome the new Rotary year at the Terrace Hotel.
Next week’s Coffee Conversation is 9:30am Thursday 2 June at White Picket Café. See you soon.
Rotarians, Partners and Friends are invited to join our

As this is a Fundraiser, we urge you to make a $5 (or more) Donation to The Cancer Council as you pay for your breakfast. There will be a sweet treat for all those making a donation!
During the meeting I will be asking members, in 60 seconds, to tell us about their “best ever” morning tea/coffee experience.
Yes, we will have a winning anecdote, selected by our judge, Dean Sullivan -who may also quiz you before determining a winner.
Kirsti is doing a drive for Fred's Van given the weather has turned and as whenever we go out there we are always asked for the following:
Good quality warm blankets (can be old in good condition, or new)
Sleeping bags (can be old in good condition, or new)
Socks (full length, not ankle) - Men's and Women's (new only)
Please bring in your donations to a breakfast meeting and pass on to John or Rob, or to a community service meeting. There is no set deadline but we will collect for about 1 month or so.
The District Governor’s Partner's project this year is Allkids whose primary objective is to ensure that all children in the Ream Commune of Cambodia, have access to education. Since 2012, AllKids have provided educational services to over 1500 children.
School infrastructure remains basic and there is limited money for maintenance, so AllKids works closely with principals, teachers, and school administration staff to improve learning outcomes for students.
To support Jenny Neale with her Partner's project the Rotary Club of Campbelltown is holding LUNCH AT THE CIVIC on Sunday 5th June; 12pm for 12.30 pm at the Campbelltown Civic Centre.
For the benefit of members, we will aim to give the Duty Roster a few weeks ahead - see below.

After a careful examination, the doctor gives the man a pill big enough to choke a horse. "I'll be right back with some water," the doctor tells him.
The doctor has been gone a while and the man loses patience. He hobbles out to the drinking fountain, forces the pill down his throat and gobbles down water until the pill clears his throat. He hobbles back into the examining room.
The doctor comes back with a bucket of warm water. "Ok, after the tablet dissolves, soak that leg for at least 30 minutes."
