There is no meeting this week. Our next meeting will be a breakfast meeting on Thursday 28 November at 7.15 am at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
Unfortunately, our scheduled speaker for next week, John Bellman, has had to postpone his talk about SACA and cricket until next year due to work commitments associated with the upcoming Domain Second Test between Australia and Pakistan, which starts on Friday 29 November. We look forward to his talk next year when we can hear all about what goes on behind the scenes at Adelaide Oval. Instead of a guest speaker at next week’s meeting we will focus on Rotary projects and planning for 2020 ahead of our AGM on 12 December.
We are looking forward to the visit to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre on November 27th, 2.30pm-3.30pm, to have a look at the PABLO equipment our Club helped to provide for the Unit. Dr Miranda Jelbart has indicated that there will be an afternoon tea and the venue is the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit Dining Room. The address is:
Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre
207-235 Hampstead Rd
Lightsview SA 5085
Would you please let me know by Thursday 21 November, by email (kmball@jelkamain.com), phone or text (0402853929), if you will be attending so that we can advise numbers to Dr Jelbart to facilitate catering.
A reminder that there will be no evening meeting in December. Instead, we will be joining with the Adelaide Rotaract Club on Friday 6 December for a game of darts for our annual ‘teapot’ challenge event at the Arab Steed Hotel.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement
To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.
Several years ago, Andy was sentenced to prison. During his stay, he got along well with the guards and all his fellow inmates. The warden saw that deep down, Andy was a good person and made arrangements for Andy to learn a trade while doing his time.
After three years, Andy was recognized as one of the best carpenters in the local area. Often, he would be given a weekend pass to do odd jobs for the citizens of the community and he always reported back to prison before Sunday night was over.
The warden was thinking of remodelling his kitchen and in fact had done much of the work himself. But he lacked the skills to build a set of kitchen cupboards and a large counter top, which he had promised his wife. So he called Andy into his office and asked him to complete the job for him.
But, alas, Andy refused. He told the warden, "Gosh, I'd really like to help you but counter fitting is what got me into prison in the first place."
