Our first Catherine House Mark Two working bee was finally done yesterday after a huge delay which was out of our hands. Our club together with the AC Rotaract Club are completing a garden makeover of five small townhouse backyards. The two next working bees are planned for Sat. 3rd and Sat. 10th. July and if you are able to participate, please contact Katey Halliday on 0411 788 454. Incoming Community Services Director Kirsti has organized our club to be involved with a Tree Planting day on Sunday 27th. June at the Narnungga Park (25). Please contact Kirsti 0n 0410 277 191 if you are able to join in. Kirsti has also arranged for our club to become part of the regular roster on Fred's Van every third Wednesday evening commencing at 5.30 pm. Our club's first evening is on Wed. 21st. July and Kirsti would love to hear from you even if you can only assist occasionally. At last Thursday's Board meeting we sadly received the letter of resignation from John the Jeweller who is planning to move down to Normanville, however John stressed that he wished to remain a formal 'friend of the club ". John has been a wonderful member of our club, a Board Member, very generous with prizes for our fundraising activities, a strong supporter of the Adelaide City Rotaract Club and his infectious enthusiasm will be missed by everyone. Last Thursday's evening Board Meeting was our last for this Rotary year, including incoming Director Kirsti and was held at incoming President John W's who was very hospitable providing some wonderful nibbles and wine (and water). Unfortunately, incoming director Margie S. and Richard J. were apologies. The Train Trip planned for Sunday 1st. August now has 41 people booked in including six children, seven members from the Adelaide Rotary Club and four friends from Adelaide's Coast FM. The next Breakfast Meeting is this coming Thursday 24th.June at the Sage and please RSVP to me by Tuesday evening to allow me to communicate the numbers to the Sage. Catherine House Working Bee |
