What a treat was in store for those intrepid Adelaide Light Rotarians who ventured to Wohlers Furniture Shop on Richmond Road, Richmond for morning tea, instead of our normal breakfast meeting last Thursday. We were provided with such a lavish repast that there was no need for lunch or dinner that day! Plus we were given a potted history of the family store and some insights to specific furniture and products they sell and then advised we could have 20% off any purchases made on the day. All in all a wonderful way to while away a morning.

With Rob out of action, John Campbell has agreed to coordinate the V8 carparking (fortunately he has a few years  experience of this) . Please contact John re any issues or if you are still able to assist.

Similarly Di Lane has agreed to coordinate the bbq roster for Bunnings Mile End on March 11th and will be looking for club support to assist particularly in the set up. Please contact Di and offer your services.

Monday 26th Feb is a great opportunity for our members to learn more about our Rotaract Club by attending our joint Rotary/Rotaract meeting at the Havelock Hotel at 6pm and plan our joint weekend at Calperum Station in April.

Thought for the week:

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.

Jokes Corner

Woes of a travel agent

An Australia lady wanting to travel to the USA on business called to make reservations, ''I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York''.

I was at a loss for words. Finally, I said ''Are you sure that's the name of the town?''

'Yes, what flights do you have?'' replied the lady.

After some searching, I came back with, ''I'm  sorry, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Rhino anywhere."

The lady said, ''Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!''

So I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, ''You don't mean Buffalo, do you?''

The  reply - ''Whatever!  I knew it was a big  animal.''
