Our next breakfast meeting is this coming Thurs. 12th. Nov. and I want to remind you to bring donations for our Share The Dignity event, "It's in the Bag", please. I will take all the items home and Kirsti and I will sort them all out this coming Saturday. The club members will be packing handbags at the following meeting on Thurs. 26th. Nov.

I will also be able to collect items on Thurs. 19th. Nov. at Coffee Conversation and Adelaide's Coast FM 88.7 are promoting the event on air, requesting that donations be dropped off at the radio station in Glandore, which I will collect.

I hope that you are having success selling the club's Grange raffle tickets and please contact Di if you need more books. Don't forget to offer to neighbours, friends, family, and the local shop may put a book on their counter.

Christmas Trees: Di has sent out a volunteer request roster and I hope that you are in a position to do a shift/s please.

This Thursday after our breakfast meeting the Tree Team are meeting with OTR to fine tune the tree setup at their location on the corner of Angus and Pulteney Streets and this afternoon Bunnings at Kent Town confirmed that we could sell trees there again, what a dilemma.

Di has also sent out a volunteer request roster for our barbeque at Bunnings at MileEnd on Sat 5th. Dec., which I hope that you can assist with please.

I trust that you have placed Friday 11th. Dec in your diary when we will be having our end of year function at the Riverside Rowing club together with the Adelaide City Rotaract Club. More details to follow.

RC Adelaide Fundraiser

The Adelaide Rotary Club will be hosting the "Not The Test Match Dinner "

at the Wine Centre on Wednesday 16th December where the Rotary Polio Ute will be on display and also where the final Rotary raffle books will be sold.

Share the Dignity - "It's in the Bag"

Share the Dignity is an organisation that works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of women experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or doing it tough and focus on ending period poverty in Australia. “It’s In the Bag” campaign runs from 20^th to 29^th November and is predominately a donation drive of basic essentials, period products and some special items which get delivered to registered charities to be distributed to those in crisis in time for Christmas.

We will be doing the adult bags and I ask that members, their friends, family and colleagues start collecting any of the following items:

Handbags or small female style backpacks that are new or if pre-loved they have to be in great condition, clean and no clear signs of use
Shampoo & Conditioner
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Bodywash or Soap
Roll-on Deodorant
Sealed packets of pads or tampons (regular to super absorbency recommended)
They also encourage additional items that would make someone feel special such as makeup, accessories, moisturiser, facemasks, hand cream, handmade items, purses etc. Keep in mind, 'what would I like to receive during such a difficult time?'

Note - All items donated should be in their original packaging, sealed and in great condition.

Please bring donated items to the breakfast meeting on 12 November.

The plan is to pool all donations by 19 November, and then pack the bags together at our meeting on Thurs 26^th November. This aligns with International Day For The Elimination of Violence Against Women which is on the 25^th November.

Here we provide free dental treatment to people who live in the Common Ground building and others in dire need.
They are trying to bridge the gap between homelessness or distressing domestic circumstances and a meaningful life.
They need their teeth to function again and be presentable for the workforce.

Bread Run

Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting.
Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money); register member payments/ apologies/ guests.
Hosting: Welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriate persons.
Furniture: Flags; banner display; Rotary theme banner; gong and hammer; lectern position before and returned after the meeting. Computer set up – Connect to projector. Switch on. Hold function key & press F5 twice.
Bottles/cans: Collect bags of bottles/cans at meeting and take to recycle centre for refund, pass refund to Bruce McDonald and empty bags to the next duty member, at the next meeting.
Rotaract: Meets alternate Mondays at 6pm (for a 630pm start) at the General Havelock Hotel in Hutt Street.
Bread Run: Sundays, meet outside Romeo's, North Adelaide at 4:55pm

Members rostered for Thursday morning duty are asked to be in attendance by 6.45am
