What a full room we had for our last meeting! It was wonderful to see extra tables and chairs being brought into the room. Thank you to those who bought guests and it was lovely to see our good friends Terry and Ange Rodoni finding time to visit us from their new home in Ballarat. Welcome back to our Treasurer Bruce and hope he is enjoying his first taste of hot weather for the summer.

Remember this Thursday we will be having breakfast at 7.30am at Rise and Grind Cafe, 114-118 East Ave., Clarence Park and then moving on at 8.45am to Foodbank, 377A Cross Rd., Edwardstown when past Rotarian Di Nicholls will take us on a tour and explain what they do at Foodbank. This should conclude by 9.30am. If you have any questions please speak to John Wotherspoon who is organising this morning for us.

At our meeting Rotaractor Heidi Wolf invited all members of our club to join in a night of celebration and reflection as they celebrate the 50th Birthday of Rotaract.  On 13th April 2018 the Rotaract Clubs of South Australia will be holding a 50 Year Anniversary Fundraising Gala Event, which will recognise and commemorate the work of Rotaractors past and present. The cocktail event will have live music from Dixie Police Band and a acoustic artist, a raffle, a wine wall and a silent auction with fundraising supporting The Zahra Foundation.  It will be held on 13th April at 7.30pm at Adelaide Pavillion, cnr South Tce and Peacock Rd., Adelaide and early bird price is $55 if purchased before Feb 12th. It would be great to see 100% of our club in attendance to support our Rotaract Club.

Dear Angus, Fear Helen, Dear Members of our Partner Rotary Club of Adelaide Light:

I want to tell that our friend, Member of our Rotary Club Bogotá Suba, EDUARDO BAQUERO has died. He was a Member of our Rotary Club for 28 years, was President of our Club during four opportunities and was the responsable of a Program of Scholarships for dtudents of Secundary Education. He helped to get their Diploma at least to 1000 young boys anf girls of Miramar. He was an excellent friend of  us, but the most important, he was a person with an inmense sense of solidarity, friendship and social commitment.

I know, this news si a surprise for you, but  I think it is important to share our imnnense support characteristic of ROTARY Solidarity.

I was  greatly surprised  saddened to receive the news of the passing of EDUARDO BAQUERO .

It was always a pleasure to meet him on my visits to Bogota .A wonderful man whose great contribution to the betterment of the education  of  the  young people of Mirama

will always be remembered.

Please convey Helen and my condolences to his family .The Rotary Club of Adelaide Light members whilst not having the opportunity to meet Eduardo also express  their sympathy

and great appreciation of his work and compassion as a fellow Rotarian of our partner club.
