The Rotary Club of Adelaide Light continue to be the holders of The Silver Tea Pot have survived the Challenge by the team from The Adelaide City Rotaract Club with our members Stef and Liz showing their talent at playing quoits.The Riverside Rowing Club venue with the balcony overlooking the Torrens River proved very popular and last Friday's evening was deemed a great success by everyone finishing with a beautiful sunset. Weekend number two of Xmas Tree sales has been successfully completed thanks to the volunteers from our club and the Rotaractors. Saturday at Bunnings at Kent Town was huge, selling 50 trees whilst 4 were sold at OTR. Sunday was a slower day with 19 trees sold at Kent Town and none at OTR, however I visited Kent Town this Monday morning and Bunnings had sold 5 more on our behalf with more trees in the tub of water awaiting purchase. This coming weekend is the third and final two day of Xmas Tree sales for 2020 and hopefully we can reach our total profit forecast of $4,000. Last Thursday morning was our last breakfast meeting for this year, which included our AGM & guest speaker Rebecca Davies whose subject, Music Therapy proved very popular as she received lots of compliments. Our next breakfast meeting is on Thursday 14th January 2012 at the Mercure/Grosvenor Hotel which reminds me that I read in the Adelaide Club's newsletter that they are experimenting with some Dinner meetings in 2021 as they have realized that not all of their members are able to attend their weekly lunchtime meetings, mainly due to work commitments. This coming Thursday morning,17th. December will be a Coffee Conversation at the White Picket Fence in Dulwich and everyone is welcome.
