We were disappointed to hear that President Miriam has been called back to Melbourne for further treatment on her pesky ankle. We wish her well for a speedy recovery.
This week's meeting (October 1) will be held at theNaval Military and Air Force Club. Join us there at 7 for 7:15am for breakfast. It is a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Adelaide South and will celebrate Hat Day - a fundraising event for Rotary's Mental Health programs. Our speaker will be Dr Michelle Atchison. Michelle is a psychiatrist in private practice, represents psychiatry on the AMA(SA) Council, and chairs the SA Branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Subsequent meetings (8 October until at least Christmas) will be at the Royal Coach Hotel, 24 Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town.
Last week, we were treated to a great talk from Kirsti Kankunnen, current President of the Adelaide City Rotaract CLub. Kirsti is a qualified neuropsychologist, and gave a fascinating talk detailing what she had to do to qualify, what she does in her work at Hampstead and all sorts of information about the impact of ageing on the brain and what we can do about it!
