President's Pen
There will be no evening meeting this week. Instead, we will be joining with the Adelaide Rotaract Club on Friday 6 December at 6.30 pm for a game of darts for our annual ‘teapot’ challenge event at the Arab Steed Hotel at 241 Hutt Street.

A reminder that the Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held on Thursday 12 December at 7.15 am at the Stamford Plaza Hotel. This will also be the last meeting for the year.  Nominations are open for all positions on the Board.  So far, nominations have been received from Di Lane for the position of Secretary and from Rob McLennan for the position of Fundraising. Please send me nominations for any of the positions on the Board.  Board positions are listed on the side of the newsletter.

We start one of our major fundraising activities this weekend selling Christmas trees on Saturday 7 December and Sunday 8 December at Bunnings, Kent Town. We will be selling trees each weekend until Christmas. Please contact Di Lane if you are able to help on any of the days.

The Four Way Test

The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Goodwill and better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Affirmation

United in the spirit of Service we value truth, fairness and friendship; and we welcome the opportunity that Rotary gives us to contribute our talents and resources in support of others.

Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement

To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.

Jokes Corner
Early one morning, a mother went in to wake up her son. "Wake up, son. It's time to go to school!"

"Give me two reasons why you don't want to go", she said.

"Well, the kids hate me for one, and the teachers hate me, too!"

"Oh, that's no reason not to go to school. Come on now and get ready."

"Give me two reasons why I should go to school."

"Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the Principal!"
