"Thanks, Julie Campbell, for applying your consummate MC skills again at last Thursday’s Changeover dinner - careful preparation and calm, thoughtful delivery. Thanks also to our Toastmasters, Richard and John C. Rob comprehensively covered the huge agenda in his charming, inimitable style - we’re truly fortunate with our three-time President! Thanks again, Rob - a brief rest is well earned but we value your continued strong involvement. For 2021/2 our Board is largely unchanged, refreshed with the addition of Kirsti and Margie.
To Di Lane, congratulations on your well-deserved Premier’s Certificate and also to Rotaractor Bernie Barrett on your Paul Harris Fellow award - overdue recognition for years of unassuming service.
We gladly welcomed two new members in Colombian couple Alex Yepes (yep-ez) and Maria Garces (gar-sez) - they’ve quietly contributed for some months now in our Community Service work. Amplifying our good fortune, we also welcomed experienced Rotarians Alison Carter and Paul Jupp, transferred from RC Mitcham. Please make them all feel at home in our usual friendly, irreverent style.
Thursday’s breakfast will discuss activity that keeps advancing our community, vocational and overseas service efforts as well as fundraising and membership objectives. After a broad brainstorm to reveal topics of high perceived importance, we may break into smaller groups about strategy and desired action in the various avenues. It’s a chance to engage your mind and also trigger subconscious digestion in the hope brave new ideas may later emerge. Feel free to involve yourself in more than one avenue. Where there’s a will there’s a way, so do get involved in making your club what you’d like it to be.
Our next Catherine House garden working bee is this Saturday 10th July and with good weather expected, we might knock it all off then under previous club member, Kym Pedler’s guidance. Please contact Katey to help next Saturday.
Following this, Kirsti’s organised our Fred’s Van work from 21st July, our next ‘Chat 2 Belong’ is on Saturday morning 21st August and we’ve a Bush-fire Recovery Fencing working bee on Saturday 11th September. Well done, Kirsti!
