Tambi Tyler is Head of School at The Colorado Springs School. She brings nearly 25 years of experience in education.
Before joining CSS, Ms. Tyler served five years as the Upper School Principal and Deputy Head of Secondary at Atlanta International School, a co-ed, day school with 1,200 students in preschool through grade 12. She also pioneered equity and inclusion initiatives at the school.
She joined Atlanta International School from Des Moines Public Schools, where she worked for 19 years. She held multiple leadership roles, including teacher, Middle School Dean of Students, K-8 School Improvement Leader, Interim Human Resources Director, and Middle School Vice Principal in an IB program.
Ms. Tyler earned BA in Secondary English Education from Grand View University in Des Moines and a Master of Science in Effective Teacher Learning Leadership from Drake University in Des Moines.
Ms. Tyler, who has two adult children, is excited to be a part of the school community and an active resident of Colorado Springs.
“There is a particular sense of community that comes from each interaction with students and teachers,” she said. “There is an incredible sense of hard work and dedication to achievement, personal responsibility, and a true feeling of community. I look forward to sharing the school’s mission and story, while making meaningful partnerships with leaders, companies, and families in the region.”

Our Food Drive for One Nation Walking Together has officially kicked off on December 1st and will continue through December 13th. Are you interested in participating with Rotary on the international level? Join the International Committee the 2nd Friday of every month (via Zoom currently) from 1:45-2:45pm immediately following the main meeting. Some of the current projects we are working with involve the Colorado Haiti Project, Ashesi Foundation, and Trampled Rose. I hope you are each starting off your holiday season with sparkles and love to spare! Although my house is filled with covid19 and pneumonia at this point, I'm focusing on gratitude for so many reasons. My home is warm. My cupboards are full. My phone is always working and connecting me to my children and my friends - which I am so grateful to have MANY! Sick or not, I am delighting in the sweet sounds of holiday music and Hallmark movies that warm my heart and occasionally make me giggle. My 4 legged daughters seems to understand that there are no bye-bye rides or walks around the block right now but they still offer cuddles and kisses galore to their sick mommy. I'm grateful for grocery store delivery and Amazon. I'm grateful for the patience of this club and my other organization that have loosened their expectations of me to allow me to heal. All in all, I really do believe that it's a great time to be me. I hope you can reflect and share that sentiment about your own life. As we watch our community come alive with ways to support others especially at this time of year, I am amazed at the innovativeness of individuals and organizations to make these efforts work - Covid be darned!
It's truly a time to be grateful for so much and so many!
