Speaking on Rotary membership and how clubs fit

Kristen Salazar is the Immediate Past President of the Alamo Heights Rotary Club and current General Manager for Alamo Heights Night which is a Fiesta Event celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023!  In addition to these club positions she also currently serves as our District Membership Chair. She has owned and operated her own business since 2010 where she helps those on disability benefits work towards coming off of disability by increasing their work earnings.  In addition to serving in Rotary, Kristen is also on the Advisory Board for the San Antonio Birth Doulas, the Advisory Board for Corazon San Antonio, and incoming Board Member for Camp Camp.  She has also been nominated to be our District Governor for the year 2025-2026!

US Army Civil War Medicine: How Innovation and Necessity Changed World Health

A discussion  aboutCivil War medicine and how it relates to today’s civilian medical care and modern military medicine. US Government Veteran care first came after the Civil War through President Lincoln’s leadership. 

Rotary causes have some common heritage with Army Medicine. IWoody will present the History of US Army Military Preventive Medicine  – preventive medicine care throughout the world based upon Army doctors – smallpox, typhoid fever, yellow fever, malaria, dengue fever, and chlorination of water. All were directly linked to work done by Army Medicine.
