At Ted Langdell Day, our end-of -year celebration, Paul Grummett was recognized for his steadfast dedication to the club as this year's Stan Powers Award honoree!! A well-deserved honor for one of our "under the radar" and "behind the scenes" dedicated members. Bravo and thank you Paul for your dedication to all things Milford Rotary! Your efforts help make the Rotary Magic happen. Or maybe in our club's case the phrase should be you help us "keep the secret sauce flowing"!

An annual highlight since 1991 of our end-of-year celebration has been the presentation of the Stan Powers award. This year Paul Grummett was recognized for his steadfast dedication to the club as the 2024 Stan Powers Award honoree! For those who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Stan Powers, he was a great human being and our “Mr. Rotarian”. Incidentally, Stan was also the father of PDG Peter Powers and when Peter joined our club, they became our first father-son duo.
As noted on our website “This award honors the accomplishments and memory of an outstanding Milford Rotarian, Stanley E. Powers. Known as “Mr. Rotarian” Stan Powers exemplified the finest qualities of a Rotarian. He was a charter member of the Milford Rotary Club (1950) and president in 1953-54. Later Stan was elected club secretary, a job he held until his death in 1989. Stan Powers was the first Paul Harris Fellow in our Milford club.” Annually, this award honors a member (or members) of our club who has demonstrated a Stan Powers commitment to Rotary service and includes a contribution to the Rotary Foundation in the recipient’s name.
