Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion

Yohana Otite is the Executive Director of Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, a community-based organization that visions a united Hamilton that respects diversity, practices equity and speaks against discrimination.  Yohana has played an important role in bringing and successfully implementing the award-winning DiverseCity onBoard program to Hamilton. The program works towards enhancing diversity and inclusion in leadership in both non-profit and public agencies by training and connecting qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds with board opportunities. Yohana came to Canada from Ethiopia in 2007. With experience working in the non-profit and private sectors both in Canada and Ethiopia, Yohana has applied her expertise in communications, marketing and community engagement to support causes she is passionate about, ranging from reproductive health rights, newcomer integration, youth career mentorship and creating inclusive Hamilton. Yohana is also a council member at the Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council and a board member at Neighbor to Neighbor.
