Sandra, Janet, Jody and Judith had the pleasure of meeting with Dan Thomas, Chief Development Officer of the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, on Wednesday, April 29th, to present him (with appropriate social distancing) with a check for $5,850 from our Club members. We were joined by Foodbank Board of Trustees member, Carol Olson, and briefly by Executive Director, Erik Talkin.

The Foodbank has been doing extraordinary work during this crisis. Below are the latest statistics.

CORONAVIRUS SUPPLIES DELIVERIES IN NICARAGUA

Our partners in the Rotary Club of Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua, delivered supplies to combat the coronavirus, purchased through our District Grant, to 5 health centers, 1 hospital and seventeen municipal public services, such as schools, library, maternity home and cultural centers. Additional supplies will be purchased with funds recently raised from club members.

SUNRISE ROTARY MASK MAKERS KEEP SEWING

Sunrise Rotarian Mask Makers: Ellen, Gary and Cheryl, Karen, Sandra, Kathy and Judith, are still sewing away, making masks for the community!

There have been 3 new recipients since the last report: Sansum Clinic, the Center for Successful Aging and Vista del Monte Retirement Home. All mask recipients were very thankful and gracious for our generosity with our time, talent and treasure!

Deliveries to date:

10 - SB School District (Peabody School)

31- Santa Barbara Foodbank for staff and volunteers

24 - Sansum Clinic

20 - Center for Successful Aging

40 - Vista del Monte Retirement Home staff
