IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT!
DG Nick Frankle invites District 5240 Rotarians to join him at the District Conference on October 14-16, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in beautiful Westlake Village. This year is all about fun, inspiration, and making your dreams come true!
THE ROTARIAN has been around since 1911 as the medium to communicate with Rotarians and to advance the program and Object of Rotary. A primary goal of the magazine is to support the annual theme and philosophy of the RI president and to disseminate information about new and special programs, major meetings and the emphasis of the several official "months" of Rotary. THE ROTARIAN provides a forum in which both Rotary-related and general interest topics may be explored. The magazine serves as an excellent source of information and ideas for programs at Rotary club meetings and district conferences. Many articles promote international fellowship, goodwill and understanding. Regular readers usually have superior knowledge of the activities of Rotary and how each Rotarian may be more fully involved in the Four Avenues of Service around the world. In addition to THE ROTARIAN there are 27 regional magazines printed in 21 languages. Although each regional publication has its own unique style and content, they all provide Rotarians with up-to-date information and good reading in April- and all through the year.
The very first edition of The Rotarian, called The National Rotarian, can be found here.
This is one of a series of short articles about Rotary written by Cliff Dochterman, PRIP, and originally published in the Rotary publication, The ABCs of Rotary.
ROTARY PIN CHALLENGE - Week 7
This past week at the Fiesta Parade I enjoyed seeing President Chris and our Group 8 Rotary float. The other star of the parade is the almost 600 horses that pulled carriages and marched up State Street. It is one of the largest equestrian parades in the country. I wore my Rotary
western boot pin at the parade in honor of the talented riders and their beautiful horses.
I have challenged myself to wear my Rotary pin EVERY day. By doing this I hope to raise awareness of Rotary and Rotary's work. I invite all Sunrise Rotarians to join me in wearing a Rotary pin EVERY day.
