The Ups and Downs of a Test Pilot
- Over forty years in management positions in both military service and civilian industry. Held executive management positions in aircraft flight operations, aircraft modification and flight test programs. Directed several multi-disciplinary organizations composed of hundreds of people with multi-million dollar budgets. Often assigned to take over and resolve the issues on troubled programs. A USAF Command Pilot and FAA Commercial Pilot with over 8000 flying hours in more than fifty different aircraft types. Held a DOD Top Secret security clearance for over forty years.
- Twenty-year military career as an officer in the United States Air Force rising to senior rank. In addition to flight duty as a Combat and Test Pilot, military experience included jobs as Commander of a Detachment of the Air Force Flight Test Center, Director of Operations and Programs for the Air Force Flight Test Center and Test Director of several major Air Force test programs.
- After leaving the Air Force, began a 20-year career in civilian industry with Tracor Flight Systems, Rockwell International and The Boeing Company (following a merger with Rockwell) as a senior test pilot, Program Manager and Department Director. Received national and international honors for technical accomplishments, as well as several community service awards. Managed several company and mixed company/government organizations with multi-million dollar budgets. Retired from The Boeing Company in 2001.

Former Chairman of the Santa Barbara, CA Airport Commission.
Served four terms as Planning Commissioner, City of Palmdale, CA.
Chairman of the Board of a multi-million dollar international Scholarship Foundation.
