Our program this week includes Dr. Mary Templeton, Superintendent of the Lake Stevens School District, who will explain the upcoming levies that will be voted on the the residents of the school district next month. The two levies are 1) Educational Programs & Operations and 2) Technology. These levies are replacements of the two levies that were passed four years ago. These levies help fund the critical needs of the District that the Sate of Washington does not fund. Please note that the levy rates will actually go down as complared to the current levies. Come to the meeting to find out all about the levies!

As we have mentioned, our Scholarship Portal is now open to accept applications from 2026 Lake Stevens High School graduating seniors. If you know of a senior who plans to pursue education after high school at a college, university of technical/vocational institution, please invite them to submit an application. Cliff Kraushaar gave an impromptu classification talk on Friday, January 9th. Cliff has been a banker for the past 34 years. Both of his parents have been in Rotary for 40+ years and attended many, many RI Conventions all over the world. Cliff was raised in Southern California and wanted to be a broadcaster. As part of that dream at the UCLA KUCLA broadcast center, Cliff interviewed Al Gore, U. S. Senator Alan Cranston and Jeb Bush.
Cliff started in the mortgage business and turned to commercial lending blending banking with arts and science. Cliff has worked for GE Capital. He was a Junior Achievement volunteer. He has coached a lot of soccer in his life, keeping the same group together for eight years until they turned 18. Married to Susan. Dan McQuire was his high school quarterback.
Our guest speaker on Friday, January 9th was Ryanna Cook, the current Mrs. Washington. A Lake Stevens resident, an Ambassador to the Bridge Receiving Center and Creator Zone who has worked with an organization in Kenya since 2014. Mrs. Washington's rein ends in March. It took her promoters eight times to convince her to run. Last March she vied for the National Mrs. America title at the Westgate Hotel in Las Vegas, but didn't finish in the top 15. The sparkles of being Mrs. Washington has helped energize and open doors for her and the many organizations that she is involved with.
Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18. The name is a combination of the words international and action. We join Clubs in over 120 countries around the world. The global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact Club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.

Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center lower level Community Room located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am.
