Our Club has been honored to have Mark Roe visit with us on several occasions. This time in his role as President of the Board of Directors of Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center, a not for profit organization serving child victims or sexual or physical abuse in Snohomish County, he will talk about the important role Dawson Place has for kids in our community.

On Saturday, September 5th, as part of a week long soft opening Rotarians and family members enjoyed dinner at Lake Stevens' newest restaurant, Qdoba Mexican Grill. Qdoba had invited various groups from the region to sample the menu and get to know what the restaurant is all about. The groups included Lake Stevens City Employees, First Responders, Lake Stevens School District, various sport organizations, Chamber members, other businesses and civic organizations. Qdoba has hired a broad range of people--many from Lake Stevens including a handful of high school students. A good time was enjoyed by all!

The formal Grand Opening is Tuesday, September 8th, 5-8 pm. Come and enjoy some great food. Welcome Qdoba!
Members- invoices were sent to you last month for the semi-annual dues and voluntary contribution to The Rotary Fund (EREY). If you have yet to make your dues payment please contact the Secretary to let him know when you will take care of this. Check your email for the invoice and be part of the Paid group. Thank you for supporting your Club.
We are seeking ideas for our weekly programs. If you have a subject, presenter or idea for our weekly programs, please contact James Monroe with that information. Thank you.
Rotary District 5050's Networking Plus was rolled out to the Lake Stevens community this week. Networking Plus is an innovative networking tool designed by Mount Baker Rotarian Greg Penner. If you are looking for a Rotarian owned business or a business that has Rotarian employees you can use this tool to find it. If you are a Rotarian you can use this tool to promote your company. Use the links here or on our home page to find a company or register your company. Networking Plus uses the robust Google Maps location software to visually display to potential customers where the business is located. Start exploring Networking Plus and support Rotary owned and operated companies.
We're are still looking for ideas for the name of this weekly bulletin. We've had one submission in the five and a half years that we've been asking. And, that was from someone outside of our Club! Send your ideas to the Editor. Thank you!

Quote of the Week - Who Said It?

"I wanted to change the world. But I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself."

Thought of the Week - Who Said It?
"Primarily Rotary seeks to apply the theory of service to business and community life...This is expressed in the first part of our code of ethics: To consider my vocation worthy and as affording me a distinct opportunity to serve society. He Profits Most Who Serves Best is a less ideal expression, but the suggestion of egoism is removed by the added words Service Above Self."
