The Mayor pointed to current projects such as the completion of Village Way giving a new dynamic entrance to Frontier Village. Of course, equally as important is completing work on the downtown plan including the construction of the Pavilion at North Cove Park currently underway. Completion date set for February. So many changes coming to Lake Stevens due in part to the growth of the city and the vision of the Mayor, City Council and staff.  

 

Upgrading the Parks is important part of the changing world of Lake Stevens. It started with  the City upgrading Lundeen Park. The upgrades to the park have opened up so many events such as Music in the Park, Movies in the Park and the Easter Egg hunt and Winterfest in North Cove Park  In the works is the transfer of Wyatt Park from the County to the City in large part due to the efforts of Snohomish Councilman Sam Low. Frontier Heights Park will undergo complete renovation beginning in February. Our Club will donate $10,000 to the renovation and County Councilman Sam Low indicated a donation of $45,000. 

 

So many new retail and restaurant openings such as Michael's, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ulta and currently under construction is a new Ross For Less in Frontier Village. Of course new dining experiences in the City include the Ram, IHOP, Biscuits and Beans and the relocation of LJ's. There is so much more to report such as the pending Costco Warehouse, addressing other concerns such as stormwater runoff, the purchase of another street sweeper, improvements to the lake quality and a new police station in the former Lake Stevens Fire facility. 

 

Good leadership, a cooperative effort with the City Council and good city staffing all bring about orderly change to Lake Stevens.
