Classification talks by Jak Thornton and Chief John Dyer were just some of the highlights of the meeting on Friday, December 06, 2019.  Jak born on the East Coast, hiked throughout Europe in his early life, enrolled in the University of Washington on a 7 year plan and owns his own tax consulting business. Looking for an organization that he could give back to the community and was asked by President Laurie to join our Club.

Chief John, grew up in Boston and in a life changing direction, joined the Marines. Started his police career with the Oak Harbor Police Department, started a DARE program there, served on the School Board for ten years, helped start the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County chapter where he met his wife Peggy.  Eventually becoming the Chief of Police in Rifle, Colorado and becoming a member of their Rotary Club before moving to Lake Stevens (to be closer to family) to assume the role of Chief of the Lake Stevens Police Department and joining our Club.
