In 2005, Laura was a Senior at Lake Stevens High School and a member of the Natural Highs Network with Steve Pitkin at the helm. As a Club, we pioneered the first Viking Film Festival. That is the start of her interest in organizing the Lake Stevens Film Festival. Last year, there were 140 submissions for the Film Festival. Screened 30 with $1,500 in prize money. They will kick off the 2nd Annual Lake Stevens Film Festival on August 4th with a Movie in the Park. The children's program will kick off at the event through the Seattle Children's Film Festival. There will be an Art Show as part of the two-day program. Under consideration is a boot camp for kids. Last year's program was very exciting and something worth seeing in August.
