Our special guest speaker on Friday, March 9th was Mayor Brett Gailey. He gave us a quick overview of some activities going on right now in the city. The Mayor will return on April 12th for a State of the City address. In the meantime, the City is undergoing a American Public Works Association accreditation with the staff and city leaders participating and engaged in the process. This has been in the works for over the past 2 1/2 years. The Main Street project will cost around $4 million dollars and start in August. The city will be hosting a Easter Egg hunt at North Cove Park. The City has applied for a couple of grants, one a bridge project and a another for a new weir at the City beach. More to come during his April 12th presentation. |
