This Week's Meeting
The program at this week's meeting includes the State of City Address by Mayor Brett Gailey. Mayor Gailey will update us on current events and plans for the City. The population is exploding, new houses are going up everywhere and our schools are busting at the seams. How is the City handling the growth? Come to the meeting and find out what the future of our City will look like.

The Scholarship Application is now live! Share the news with the students in the Lake Stevens School District. The Deadline is Friday, April 12th! We have two applications available- one for those who want to pursue higher education at a college or university, the other for those interested in trade, vocational or technical schools. Our scholarships is perhaps the biggest thing we do as a Club in Lake Stevens. Share this link - https://lakestevensrotaryscholarship.org/

Rooted Northwest is Western Washington’s Newest Agrivillage, Combining Village Living and Permaculture Farming
Our speaker on Friday, April 5th was Jacob Laub who discussed Rooted Northwest which is a village hub + small scale agriculture, multi-generation community  The idea comes from Denmark (co-housing program) with a small walkable village surrounded by agriculture.

Rooted NW sits on 240 acres of open farmland and gentle slopes in the foothills of the Cascades east of Arlington, WA. Rooted Northwest members own homes in the village and equal shares of the common buildings and agricultural land. Members can engage in expertly managed and facilitated decision-making if they feel passionate about an area and want to contribute their expertise.

Next Week:  Our speaker will be Mayor Brett Gailey with a State of the City update.
