The featured speaker at this week's meeting is Elizabeth Michaud, Director of Membership at the Marysville Branch of the Snohomish County Y. Elizabeth was last with us in March of 2023. Snohomish County Y has been serving and strengthening our communities since 1901. Through the Y's three Areas of Impact--Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility--the impact goes far beyond just a place to go to or do things at (swim, exercise, hang out), but rather set solid foundations for youth and families to make impacts for a lifetime. Come and hear about the latest news about the Y!

Also, don't forget to sign up for the District Assembly coming up on April 6th. All members are welcome to participate and the first five are paid for. Will you be one of those five? Our Club pays for five people to participate whether or not we send people. The Assembly is an excellent training opportunity for Rotarians of all experiences. This is for New Club Officers, Rotarians who want to network, develop relations with other Rotarians, learn from other Rotarians in our District, and newer Rotarians who would like to better understand the value and meaning of Rotary. The Scholarship Application is now live! Share the news with the students in the Lake Stevens School District. The Deadline is Friday, April 12th! We have two applications available- one for those who want to pursue higher education at a college or university, the other for those interested in trade, vocational or technical schools. Snohomish City Lifestyle

Our guest speaker on Friday, March 29th was Shannon Coy, Publisher of Snohomish Lifestyle. The magazine is one of 181 such publications in the United States. The magazine focus is on "hyper city" areas. Products and services that benefit the community with the highest degree of service. The magazine was started and launched in December. City Lifestyle exists in other communities in Washington State including Bellevue, Kirkland and Mercer Island. All of the issues are on a digital format. According to a recent audit, there are over 60,000 readers and 78,000 inquiries on their website.

Scholarship Application Now Available!

The 2024 Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Scholarship Application is now available! The process is done completely online. Click this link to get started. Students can choose to apply for the college and university scholarship or the vocational, technical or trade school scholarship. Students, please read the instructions carefully. Make sure you fully understand the questions and demonstrate in your answers that you have done your research. The deadline is Friday, April 12, 2024. Applicants are then selected for interviews and scholarships are awarded at one of our Club Meetings in later May. We will also present them to students at the Lake Stevens High School Scholarship Recognition Night. Click this link to get started and good luck!

Interact is a service club for youth ages 14-18. The name is a combination of the words international and action. We join Clubs in over 120 countries around the world. The global youth network is dedicated to community and international service. Every Interact Club project, great or small, has a lasting impact on society worldwide.
