This Week's Meeting
This week's meeting includes a presentation by Ethan Hansen and Derek Kaye, co-founders of Whispr Innovations, a robotic lawn mowing and battery electric landscaping company. Their mission is to provide high-quality services that are better for our health, reduce noise and that doesn't contribute to air pollution.

Don't forget about the Board Meeting next week on Tuesday. All members are invited.

Skyline Elementary - "WE Need a New Playground for Our Explorers"

We Need a New Playground for Our Explorers was the message given by Kristina Schweizer, Skyline PTA President on Friday, January 28th at our weekly Club meeting.

This link will provide you with all of the details of the great need at Skyline Elementary as the current playground is badly in need of being replaced. Kristina emphasized the need "to provide the students with a safe, engaging, and accessible space to play" for all students.

The current playground is falling apart. The structure has several broken pieces, chipping paint and band aid fixes aren't going to help the situation of deteriorating equipment. According to Kristina, the lack of elements to choose from causes overloading of the pieces they have and swings which are a vital component of any playground, but they need replacing rather than repairing.

WHAT THEY NEED: Skyline needs a playground that meets the needs of all their children. 1) Multiple Elements Structure:  A structure for kids who want to slide with multiple slides of assorted sizes. A structure for kids who want to climb and hang and utilize full body movement. 2)Various Elements: Kids need swinging, rocking, imaginative play, balancing, hanging, and stretching activities, as well as a place to rest. ADA Compliant: There needs to be elements that ALL students can access and use regardless of their abilities.

Kristina commented after this article was published that she wanted to let you know that our amazing students and their families brought in $40,143.00 with our Apex fundraiser that finished on Friday. We are motivated to bring this playground into reality.
